Sitting here listening to my 1b’s on the Audio Refinement Complete and its just very musical. I wouldnt say its laid back but the soundstage does stay behind the speakers. Think you will be fine with the Multi 3

For the best information, I suggest contacting John Rutan at Audioconnection( that's his Agon name, so you can PM him, It's also his store, so you can call him). He know Vandy inside and out, and knows amps and everything stereo. He can give you the best advice, outside of Mr. V. himself.
Otherwise, I know that Vandy's are very good with McCormack, Atma-Sphere, Belles,  and Ayre. I don't know Aragon, but I'm sure Johnny does.

vandersteen and in your face are not exactly what I have EVER heard out of them......

i got in some bit of trouble selling Model 1 over the 2 ( this is a very old story ) because in my opinion you need an amp with control of the bottom end for any of tge Acoustic Coupler Vandersteen models..... anyway I started selling model 2 when I paired them with good old Hafler DH-200

i have heard recent 2 really sing with 85 wpc VTL and 80 WPC Odyssey SS power.....

I'm more curious , I guess , of the difference in sound ? I have the impression the Audio Refinement gear will sound more warm and relaxed or laid back and the Aragon , being more powerful,  would have more authority , snap , punch and faster transients with an ' in your face ' sort of sound  ?
I like the more forward sound rater than the laid back sound ( for lack of better termonollogy .

Way back in the 90's I used an Aragon 4004 amp with an AI Modulus 3 tube preamp and Vandersteen 2ci speakers.  The word buttery smooth comes to mind.

If the amps have sufficient power, then they should work as normal.
What are your concerns?
