Using a RCA-only preamp with an XLR-only power amp

Is it worth the trouble? What would be the best approach? I have an opportunity to buy a Fostex power amp 600, but the connexion issue bothers me. I will go for a more home-oriented amp with RCA inputs if it’s too much trouble.
ADD: Would this passive volume control do the trick?

The amp uses unbalanced XLR. Use a RCA to XLR connector. 1&3 are ground and 2 is signal.
I read that the pin 3 is the hot one on that model. Does it mean that  I should get some kind of pin-reversing connector?
Just checked the manual. I got my answer. I'll go with the Neutrik if I buybthe amp. Thanks guys.
