Tube dampers on your tube s in you CDP or DAC?

I'm using Herbie's in my CDP and preamp. Most noticeable was the tighter bass. I noticed it immediately in my CD.

I've used them for years on all my tube gear including CD players.

For small signal tubes(12AX7), Galen Carol Audio offers effective but inexpensive damper rings on his website.

I've also found several suppliers of similar but larger versions for my 6SN7's on Ebay.

i have used E.A.T. dampers on tubes in a cd player. they have been in production for several years. they are aluminum on the ouside, with several teflon inserts placed in the inner grooves.

at first i thought they "warmed" up the sound, i.e., reduced harshness and smoothed out the sound. now, i am not sure. i recently compared a damped and undamped tube and did not hear much of a difference.

as for herbie's tube dampers, i thought they increased resolution and reduced warmth. i do like herbie's other products, such as anti-resonant devices.

I used both rubber and silicone dampers on a CJ dac and pre.They both worked great though the silicone did melt a tiny bit.Tightened up the sound and had better bass and highs.But tried them on my Vincent cdp and it just sounded constricted.

This is true, some will melt and adhere to the tube. Be wary of the cheap orange dampers sold on ebay. As I said before, I use Herbie's and they are very well constructed.

I use them, not sure which ones, but these are massive and good.But I haven't noticed any improvements in sound at all, to be honest.
