TSM-MM not loud enough ...

While I have no problems with bass due to integration with Vandy 2Wq subs, the TSM-MM can not fill my 21'x16'x9' room. It has taken years to get my system as optimized (to my tastes) as it is now, other than lack of shear volume at times. Is there any viable option? Would the VSM fill my needs? I think Merlins are in my blood forever, but ...

Any input appreciated.

hi t,
the vsm can play about 8 or 9 db louder than the tsm (up to 111 db)and is 3 db more efficient. you have to be the judge of how loud you need to go to make you, happy.
your room is only 3024 feet in volume so there should be no issue for the vsm to fill it. but again t, no one really has any idea of how loud you really want to go.
i can understand how on some music the tsm cannot play loudly enough. it was designed to fill smaller volumes and "i" feel the same way at times in larger spaces.

the comment from the dealer above is absurd as he has no first hand knowledge of current merlin products. he has a personal issue with me.

bobby
af,
There are plenty of other choices that will fill your requirements. "Undoubtedly better as well". this was posted by you, was it not?
how would you even know this since you have no first hand knowledge of my latest product or probably, none at all, for that matter?
preconception and assumption?
both unprofessional and not helpful to anyone except perhaps, you!

and my conduct is purely to stick up for my product and to give knowledge where it is needed. what i have found unprofessional is your conduct to be sure. first the two e-mails you sent me that border lined on rude when all i tried to do was to explain my side of this. and since you first intervention of a merlin string, months ago, i have watched you very closely. you are a classic example of "do what i say but not what i do"! there are many here that seem imperfect to you or motivated by something questionable, aren't there?.
i fail to see how a dealer has more place than a manufacturer posting here on agon. do you really want to compare the long list of things you sell to the two models i have refined for over 10 years and see who is complelled by what? my motivation is not money, that is obvious.
perhaps you should reconsider your position and stop this nonsense. do not read it if you do not like it!
and just for your information, you should see some of the e-mails i have received from others questioning your motives.
again, "you cannot make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time" and my favorite, "to thine own self be true."

af,
being a manufacturer and moving in those circles, i think i know a few more than you do. i have spoken to many about dicussions in chatrooms and they have to me because they know i post. their opinions vary greatly. some have very large companies and are too busy running them, some with research, some with travel and some just let their dealers or customer service personal do the talking for them. they do not get involved unless a given situation is out of control. some and not many just make themselves totally inaccessable to all for one reason or another. and a few even commended me personally for standing up for my work. not once was it ever said to be unprofessional to stick up for your work or help consumers.
but to be fair to you, there may be some who do feel that way because nothing is an absolute. your opinion of what i am doing here has been stated many times and i do not agree with you. but be sure of one thing, there are many who post here that know my product and own it. i will continue to offer advice and to clear up problems and or misconceptions.
with you being a dealer, why do you post here and take many to task? i feel this is an example of "the kettle calling the pot black."

thanks to all that have commented here about trying to help thom and for supporting my efforts on agon.
thom, i know what you feel because i sense the same thing you do about the tsm in some situations and in larger rooms. when you have a chance give me a call and i will be happy to help you. i may also have some news that will make you feel better and be interesting as heck for you.
happy holidays to all,
bobby
lol!
why not just stop this bickering completely and get back to the music, the sound and the discussion of gear?

happy holidays,
bobby
