I have heard these several years apart, so to take my comments with a HUGE grain of salt.
I heard the totem wind on a Cary tube amp. It sounded dull with little life to me. I ended the demo after about 30 minutes.
I heard the Sofia 3 on tube AR gear and a number of solid state amps and they have always sounded good with good bass and clear mids. They were a lot higher energy speaker in the system I heard them in. I would think it would be a big upgrade.
