Been listening lately to:
Sibelius Lemminkainen Suite & Karelia Suite RSO Helsinki/Kamu
Bach Goldberg Variations Murray Perahia, piano.
Songs of the Auvergne (arr. Canteloube) w/Victoria de los Angeles
Buena Vista Social Club presents Ibrahim Ferrer
Trio da Paz: Black Orpheus (Koko 1299) This relatively unknown CD combines fine musicianship with outstanding engineering. Have no idea how they pulled this off, but it sounds as good as the best vinyl.
Johnny Hartman: Once In Every Life
Sonny Rollins: Saxophone Colossus and More (been enjoying this Prestige LP since 1975!)
West Side Story - Original Broadway Cast
The Tony Rice Unit: Backwaters (no weak tracks; great sonics, at least on LP)
Pharoh Sanders: Rejoice (Highlife and Nigerian Juju Hilife are incomparable sacred dance pieces ... have an aerobic workout and bliss out!)
