Here is a tip when using Roon as the interface for Tidal or Qobuz (I have both).
First, avoid WiFi. Roon sounds much better using Ethernet.
Second, research the correct settings in Roon’s advanced settings for your device.
Third, make sure you try upsampling in Roon to the highest resolution your DAC can support. You do this by going to the DSP settings in Roon for your playback device and clicking on sample rate conversion.. My Lumin can do DSD 128, but it’s default is much lower, and resetting to DSD vastly improves the sound.
The next part is key - In the same sample rate settings described above, be sure to set the filter to Smooth- Minimum phase
These steps greatly enhanced my Lumin playback. On my Bluesound Powernode, used for another system, the Ethernet setting was vastly superior than using WiFi
