Thiel 1.6 vs 3.6 in Small(ish) Room

I currently have the 1.6 in there, and it actually sounds really good. But I'm getting the impression that the 3.6 wouldn't work in there at all. Might not be worth lugging those beasts upstairs just to be disappointed. 

The bass response I'm getting is surprisingly deep and tight. That "punch" you can feel in your chest is there. I believe it helps that I have them loaded in the corner, and my listening position is in the other corner.

So far, I have two votes to just get rid of the speakers and try something different. But when you're talking about a cumulative 350 pounds of speakers, it's no small feat to sell and ship them. 

Anyone else?

Ok, I'm in. I'm going to move those speakers up into the listening room (with help, of course) and just see what the hell happens. 

One of these sets of speakers is getting sold as the outcome! Of the two models, the 3.6 will be MUCH harder to ship. Here's hoping big speakers sound good in a small room...

I'm still trying to align my schedule with someone who can help me move them! I'll definitely post back in here once I give them the full test. 

Update time!

My friend helped me move these upstairs, and that's no small feat for speakers that weigh 107 lbs apiece. They were in my living room with 12 foot ceilings, and are now in my small-ish listening room. And they look freaking massive.

So the sound is good, but you can definitely tell that it's coming from the speakers. They don't disappear in the same way the 1.6 disappears, maybe because there's so much MORE speaker to vanish? Maybe I just can't get far enough away from them for the separate drivers to mesh? Corner-to-corner I can only get about 6-7 feet of distance between me and the speakers. 

I'm going to leave them for a bit though, and see if they settle into the space. My first impression is that they are in fact too big, but they also haven't been used in years so they may just need to break back in.

@jafant Thanks for checking in! The imaging has gotten better as I've positioned them further apart, but now they are literally inches from the side walls! It's not a setup I like, but they would only be about 4 feet apart otherwise.

So here's what I'm doing: I have a "home theater" room adjacent to the current listening room, and it's about 2 feet wider and 3 feet longer. I'm thinking I switch the home theater room to the listening room, and the listening room to the bigger room.

All this to accommodate speakers!
