They say Revels need lots of power...really?

I have a pair of Revel M-106s that were powered by a 150 watt NAD integrated amp and they sounded great. Then I went to a Pass 30 watt class A amp and they still sound great. My smallish listening room and home environment restrict playback levels to about 83 db max, which seems plenty loud for me. Granted it might be a borderline match because of low power and low sensitivity, but it’s working well enough here.

I’ve heard from Pass themselves and a couple other sources that Revels need lots of power to sound their best. What exactly does that mean in terms of my listening setup? Especially since I’m considering moving to the F-206 speakers, among others.

While I’m at it, any other speaker recommendations in the $2000-4000 range for this amp and my environment? Love the amp so much that I’m trying to match speakers to it, rather than the other way around which seems more common.
