Never heard the MF X-DAC, but I do have the Theta Jade. I've had three different DAC's from the late 90's with the Jade, and to my ears it sounds best with a DAC that leans toward the warm side rather then the bright, glary and analytical. Make sure you get a good digital cable that won't be on the bright side... IC's, too. The Jade is a great transport that is very revealing, but to me it just needs to be tamed. Your taste may be different though.
