My own experiences re Puron

My friend from Thailand, Wuti L introduced me to Sudkee, a dear friend of his. A few weeks later I had my first Puron sample.

I have used Puron in the same Duplex that has the Mains for my Core Power 1000. I’ve also used two Purons – in that same Duplex, as well as Position One on the CPT 1K.

Puron is NOT a Magnetically Derived Device. Puron deals mainly with “timing” which results in a vastly improved noise floor. Many of you have noticed this. I know I have

The results in my two systems are basically an improved retrieval of information. Both the Leading Edge and Decay are improved. I use the same 10 or so tracks when developing the LSA gear, new Core Power or (now), Next Gen Emerald Physics.

A Track that comes to mind is the nicely bouncy beat from Manu Katche – Keep on Trippin. I also like Ensemble Cello pieces (too many to name) as the Attack and Decay are easy to recognize and articulate in my systems.

Puron is a very good product. There is no web site as yet, but there will be one next week. Puron is an improvement in most systems – but perhaps, not all. I was going to put Puron in our web site that has our Vanguard Loudspeakers (www.xsa-labs.com) but I decided instead to have a site dedicated to Puron and another  new product from Swiss Digital called Fuse Box – coming soon. Puron is not my product and while I have had a good explanation from the inventor and owner of the company – Sudkee, he made me promise that I would not post about the tech.

 

I realize that this does nothing to satisfy your question, but I also understand why Sudkee does not want me revealing bits of the tech.

With Core Power I can explain why DC Snubbing makes almost any system work and sound better. DC is a BIG issue on the AC Mains everywhere in the world. Puron seems to work best by improving the Noise Floor with its tech

I had a very nice guy call me the other day from Las Vegas. Troy B had an issue with his subwoofers in a very good/high-end system. Puron was plugged in and Noise was vanished. Maybe Troy will post. Very nice guy BTW.

With all “tweaks” as called out here and in other places, one must try them in their own systems. Nothing else matters, nothing else is important. Your system is where it’s at.

Puron is sold out right now, but I started a list on Friday for those interested. Puron does come with a 30-day Money Back/ No Questions Asked Guarantee.  You are charged only when we ship it. Expecting more shortly.

I have yet to have a return – although Ozzy was not thrilled with Puron is his system, but now he’s working with Puron on his video rig. We’ll see.

My advice to those that are interested is simply this – buy and try. Decide for yourself.

 

As Greg Voth from Stereotimes and others have mentioned – this is an easy A/B (blind or sighted).  Plug in – LISTEN and then Un-Plug and Listen. Don’t listen to me or anyone else – Listen to YOUR System.

 

I remember when I was struggling so much with Deep Core 1800. When it was finally finished we published several AP and Digitasl Scope Captures  of  Mains itself – AND THEN – Mains with Deep Core  --- 4 volts on the line went down to 30mV. Proof is STILL in the listening and there are 100’s of Deep Core’s out there. Popular product.


I will ask Sudkee again, but I’m pretty sure he won’t want to provide a Road Map for others. Patent it you say – that takes some time – even under Pending.

One Puron will work very well in most systems.

My advice is to plug it in – in the same duplex where your plug strip resides of Power Conditioner

In my case I used two – NOT necessary as one will make a great difference and two can also add further positive results.

With respect to Puron, I’m just the Distributor. Sudkee, the owner came to my attention from a long time friend in Thailand (Wuti L) who was our Distributor for Audio Alchemy there. He told me about the product and introduced me.

I tried the first sample for more than 2 months and was really impressed. I told Sudkee I would be happy to help.

Puron is not based on Magnetics etc. In my two systems at home – and while using it with my Core Power EQUI=CORE 1000 I did notice a lower Noise Floor and improved “information retrieval” – the Attack and Decay of instruments and voices were improved.

 

I signed up to help here in the US and Canada and I’m introducing friends I’m made while at Audio Alchemy, Genesis Technologies and Core Power to Sudkee.

Sudkee did explain the product to me – I was impressed. Lots of thought went into it. He asked me NOT to say anything about his tech and I will do as I was asked. I’ve made suggestions about “Timing” and Noise Floor, etc. I stand by those comments. I’m not an EE, but I do love the results. Zero returns thus far.

Like many things in Audio… Listening and Evaluating in one’s system is the ultimate test. I hope you’ll try one

I understand the essence of your post. No where do I use the word “Clock” in my posts.

 

There are a number of products that use similar form factors – perhaps because of the physical constraints/needs of direct plug in (to the wall or socket)

I have said often to simply try it.

Tonight, there are two nice articles that were published about Puron. I hope you’ll read them. Puron did win an Award – but both are very worthwhile reads.

Your note struck me in a good way

There are ideas that are being looked at in other areas. Products like Puron serve an appropriate purpose dealing with “noise” which is our enemy for best playback

As well, DC on your Mains is a destroyer in achieving the best sound possible. DC Snubbing is a MUST for getting the most out of your hi fi (in my opinion).

There are some incredible technologies being looked at by people I know that should be/will be, Game Changers. I don’t really think it’s appropriate for me to post these ideas here. If you would like to discuss the next step – feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

If you have a single Puron – please go into the Duplex or Quadplex where your Deep Core and Equi=Core are plugged into.

A good thing to try – is do the above as noted – but also try plugging the Puron into the EQUI=CORE 1800 mkiii (NOT the Deep Core). DC does a spectacular job with DC Snubbing as well as EMI/RFI mitigation.

I was discussing DC on the line with @rvpiano just this morning on a work break.

I’ve had an opportunity to speak with a few of you and share some information about Puron that I’ve experienced. It’s been a joy actually, as Denton is in the middle of a horrible Ice and Snowstorm. Entire City is closed down.

Puron is a really great product. Puron will work differently in each system because of the AC in the house. Some people have less DC on the mains than others.  Puron is part of a bigger system solution.

one of the beauties of being in the audio business for 54 years is you get to meet a lot of people that become very precious. Many years ago I met Roy Harris who is a very unique individual and somebody who truly loves the audio industry

 

Roy has reviewed for several publications most recently audiophilia and he really works hard at his craft.

 

Roy had asked me to sell him a puron which I did and he told me that he would after listening to it write a review and I was really happy about this

 

subsequently Roy was unable to write the review on his Chromebook and instead decided to send his review in handwritten form to me

 

I've dictated the review here into my word processor and although some might think this is quite duplicitous on my part I did say I would post the review for him here on this thread. My apologies to anyone who finds this offensive but I rather honor my friendship then not

hi mark I'm having a problem composing a review on my Chromebook then I decided to mail it to you I'm very sorry to give you more work having to enter the review on a computer but I felt getting this to you is better than not getting it at all here it is

 

I auditioned a puron for two weeks having borrowed it from a friend before he flew to Florida after some experimentation I placed the puron into an outlet in series with my transport

 

I experienced many positive benefits selecting complex material such as a Shostakovich Symphony #5 conducted by André Previn I noted a wider soundstage greater separation between instruments and a greater base presence

 

listening to voices I observed several positive changes vocal range increased a consequence of the presence of the soundfield against my chest often I've heard works sound like words were emanating from the head I also heard a greater clarity and a more natural presentation I know this greater microdynamics from Frank Sinatra found on the recording only the lonely the overall effect was more realistic Timbers greater transparent lower noise and an absence of digital artifacts no products are perfect I would characterize the puron as having a slight tubelight character exemplified by liquidity and bloom a bit more energy in the lower mid range and base and a slight reduction of treble energy with the puron in my system listening is more enjoyable and less unpleasant musical passengers are encountered

the two salient attributes of this product I perceived are a naturalness of timber and greater base presence

 

I intend to purchase another puron

Actually - both are true.

When Roy asked me originally for Puron I simply didn’t have one for him.

He did borrow one from a friend

He liked it (understatement)

With more inventory - I shipped his initial order.

After that - he bought one more. I was paid for each of them. :)

Roy is not your average cup of coffee - he’s a very good guy, and very well known in NY/NJ audiophile circles.

Puron 110v will go to $275

 

Puron 220/240v NEMA 15 US Style will increase to $295

Puron 220/240v Schuko will go to $295

 

Costs in shipping, Import Duty and Handling are the main causes

I will pay freight to all destinations at NO COST until June 1, 2023 and then I will begin to charge for freight.

Super glad you are3 pleased with your system. This IS, after all… where the rubber hits the road.

As far as Large Scale AC Conditioning I’m (obviously) a BIG Fan of Balanced Power. In my own home I had more than 3volts of DC riding on my AC Line. With my Core Power 1800 – 35mV now. Big difference – easier for the entire system to “work”. Transformers are happier – I’m happier.

I know you live far away, and freight is a bummer for something big/heavy – but I can and WILL help.

I believe strongly that Puron with your Niagra’s will get you to the next step in performance. Break In as you well know is an important consideration.

I offered my opinion to @joenies just a few posts earlier about Balanced Power and Puron. They work well together. I also suspect that @ozzy will find joy with his Niagra’s and Puron

There is also no better way to improve one’s system with solid DC Snubbing. There are several good products out there that do the trick.

I’m sorry you feel this way. There are several reasons for this - they are

Cost for Transport with DHL is very expensive - as well as the new Duty Allocation now must be factored in

The increase is not too bad

US goes from $250 to $275 with freight pre-paid

Export goes from $250 to $295 and I will pay the freight and use UPS and NOT USPS - UPS is roughly $20-$30 dollars more

I personally feel this is not a terrible increase give the Paid Freight

PS - I also stated in my post that I will not increase the price until May 1st - and in the meantime I will keep my $250 price and pay the freight anywhere in the world prior to May 1st.
