Sbayne I remember you did have the IM , with double rhytmik sub, you bought spatial speakers after.y. I do own the KLH 9 electrostatic now , before I got the KLH Iam leaning toward the Moab. |
I love them why Iam looking to max their potential. I know there are some upgrades but that time I ordered them , Iam on the curious mode. |

Actually I emailed Eric but modification or upgrade was not mentioned to him, I also did call Him to ask and mentioned , 3 of my tweeters both sides including both centers were fried, my fault got carried away I push the impact more than they are capable of. No warranty covered.I thought this is the chance to explore with new tweeters... But Grant (TVAD) is against and Markr1 both good friends. I posted here to get more recommendations, So far Iam thankful for all the suggestions, Iam really serious on modification but I need advise here. |

If Iam not mistaken Bill mentioned the mod he did on some Tekton speakers, Iam always not good shipping big boxes .I believe He knows the design very well, because he did a double impact mod, that he posted here on Agon, He spend money and his time to mod the DI very impressive. |

Tomic601 I am aware KLH are not to played loud. But I did underestimate my monos amp 150 w playing the suite espanol, the Asturias is the one playing.

Jerry Iam enjoying my thread , and thanking everyone who participated, it’s more fun in Audiogon right? Some did have bad experience with Erik , I could tell on their previous post , I respect that, Some like MC adds some fire flavor to his post , and others take it seriously, this is where the comedy occur 😀..Some give honest recommendations like Sbayne and TVad , this are experience serious audiophile, and very nice guy too. Some just hates Tekton they trash them like crazy , I respect that too.. I think I will replaced the tweeters with the original one.I agree the Moab are bargain for what they do according to a trusted reviewer Teajay. Known as Terry London. |
For the meantime I will use my Tekton ps 12 , while the impact are out for repair. |

Carl it’s better to just see it the way it is, honestly my wife always have fun reading post here, so yes we both enjoy it. Dekay I open the center it has a capacitor attach to it. The other tweeters it’s just wire connected.

Onhwy61, this Speakers impact monitors can only handle 125 w I think. Iam using 150w mono blocks with Krell preamp , And Marantz sa10, this set up powered my Andra no sweat. My suspicions the tweeters blow up when Iam playing sacd suite espagnola by Fruhbeck de Burgos, playing Asturias , I push the volume a bit more, I underestimated the power of my Tsakadiris monos and overestimated the impact cabality. |
Tektons are not for everyone, if you don’t like them buy other speakers, is that simple...But you are welcome to post here about them especially, if you have heard them like it or not, This a FYI forum right? |
David thank you for posting on this thread , As you know since you visited me , I did add SMe 10 turntable, with icon ps3 phono preamp? This year on my second system , I added vpi superscout tt and Sutherland 2020 phono preamp. On digital I bought MarAntz Sa 10 sacd players, Now Iam mixing tellurium Cables and Nordost Cables And teo Cables a bit Audioquest ic, And KLH 9 Speakers added. My ps 12 are on vacation, you know what happen to my impact, otherwise over all , for my taste Iam bless to really like the music coming out from both systems.Iam now waiting for a use Valhalla 1 used to show up on Agon or Tmr Audio.So far so good.

Grant my Andra took long time before I got the right amps for them, I almost gave up on them.Now they are singing for my taste.

Jetter I myself was surprised they exceeded the thermal limits and burn the voice coil , when I was playing them, As far as I remember Using Krell preamp KRC 3 , I never exceeded 10, |
At times it takes long time to be able to find the right match, and to learn whatever gear you add to your system, unfortunately very few has the patience to wait. Good example When Robert Harley reviewed the yagdrassil for couple of weeks it did not even sound good , it took a month I think before the yagdrassil show how good it is. |
Maybe MC work really hard to make the MoAb sing, and besides he has a very good gear.I could tell he is very knowledgeable and patience. |
Jetter 3 tweeters both Speakers, Iam using Tsakadiris mono tube 150 w.Iam almost sure the sacd I played is one of the reason. And the volume set up.

Spacecade when I first got the Tekton impact , I know I like them, but I knew they have potential to sound better, when I went to listen to 1 Markr system Agon member, close friend of mine, He was able to make the impact sound so musically dynamic. Even close to live music. This experience confirm my suspicions the impact with the right gear, they will perform beyond you hope for. |
Jetter I connected my Elac B6 monitor just to see if the elac will have the same result?So far I did push the vol to 10 same cd, no problem. |

Iam cautious not to connect the system to my Andra 1 Eggleston, why I choose the elac just in case the damage will not be much ,just in case the amp are the issues. |

First of all Erik pricing for his speakers are very affordable, but they do sound good for my taste.Remember you get for what you paid for. Honestly Erik did not make a lot of profit for selling me the impact monitors. Today my technician look at the tweeters, I bought for replacement, I stick on the same tweeters, I bought six, my technicians upon looking at the tweeters said the tweeters don’t have rooms for heat, why the the voice coil burn ,I remember playing them 6 hrs straight that day, volume on the 10. |
