 Lets just say that under   very controlled  conditions . All 4 of us foolish audiophiles were not impressed with them, One did go listen to the same model at another place with high current amps and left less than impressed. Their claims of HIGH db is way off ! They use average drivers that are off the shelf. I know the SB guys well and have dealt with some of their best drivers which they do not use. Tekton  DID have a page long Diatribe about BE being a inferior material as a tweeter and SUDDENLY , THEY CHANGED their tune .

  I guess selling with no distributors , one needs a platform somewhere !

That was a nice dissertation from Jim salk on his using the Satori BE. HE NEVER SAID BE WAS HORRID AS A MATERIAL FOR A TWEETER !
 DID he?     This industry has a memory like an elephant.   .

 

 I never said SB has poor drivers. If Tekton uses a $53 midwoofer Retail and it plays their intended pass band so be it. Bigger companies have purchasing power and can have drivers custom made with differing magnets and voice coil winding.

 Huge claims by the pom pomers claiming they beat $30k speakers is Typical Internet sales on these forums. Distributors allow demos and proof by direct head to head comparison.

 If You did not come on here and proclaim them as the Bell of the ball almighty giant killers,    Tekton may have a better chance at being taken seriously. In any Tekton thread there have been individuals like my self who have had first hand experience with them and are considered Trolls or hatters. We have met and albeit , we don't agree on speakers, I respect your passion. You might have had the largest CD collection I have ever seen, definitely the best organized

 In thirty years of this high end industry I, as others have seen many speakers that claim to be the next giant killers with spiral zenophonic linial phase aural acoustics that some individual has figured out.
 Bashing big names and disparaging manufactures for charging more than you think is not gonna gain respect.
  It is also very difficult for many to accept something as the next best without paying  $400 to try it. No dealers to demo makes most leery and a costly ordeal. Show conditions are always less than ideal

 In "My" opinion if Tekton wants  to promote their line with no distributor distribution. They should offer a PAID hotel stay, or fuel reimbursement to and from  any owner or place that may have Tekton speakers to listen and demo,  Its far easier for both the consumer and the and the manufacture as shipping is costlier, and time is saved  with less damaged units !  Many manufactures market to the idea that once a person gets their product in their home they have a much higher chance of them not returning the product based not only on joy but fear of rejection from others. Reshipping hassles.. On a desert island even a ugly girl becomes pretty !

This is NOT business for the consumer ! Federal Per Diem is set rate. Gas per mile ! Food cost as well as hotel stay ! Write offs!
There has to be a better way than me paying $400 to demo and my time !
Maybe Tekton can sponsor an event. Send a pair of speakers to a individuals house with comparative or higher end speakers and advertise it as a Get together listening session. Host will be Reimbursed for the Ordeal (food, drinks, time) A neutral place to demo against and for ! Its up to the consumer to get there for free food and drinks as well as potentially world class listening !

Dealers provide that and head to head comparisons. I would like to know who Blindly buys something based off and opinion or review?

@johnmarzy  Wow , a company that has no factory to show off let alone demo their proud work, No dealers to demo?  A leap of faith for $400 to try !

 There have been many You get a Rolex for a Timex companies come and go in this game. To be To be valid and Real a company must provide a tangible product . fed by dealer demos and customer service.


You should have booked your flight  anyways to Utah and went to a WORLD class speaker company that would have been glad to allow a factory demo as well as explain how a real speaker is manufactured and made with top quality parts and service. Oh yeah ! They even give you grills with your speakers you purchase. What a concept !

 When a company draws a line in the sand and makes a blanket statement that we all are wrong and hearing things terribly from inferior material that others are praising and low and behold. Its suddenly appears in their Top line speakers at a premium.

 Whats that tell you about the company ? They were not correct with their thinking ! Many of consumers may have bought the other material recommended by the manufacture using it, Now their speakers are upgrade able to a better material that they were told not to buy !  
 Maybe the mods should make a section just for reviews of reviewers. No posting just a review. Then its Caveat Emptor

 It looks a tad sales like in most of your threads in not only mine but others opinions

I just read a thread on this very board where a Individual demoed them and was ADAMANT about not getting a dog hair on them as you will get slapped with a sure OVERCHARGE. AND HE DID !

 I would think if there was any damage Tekton could make a claim from shipping! Why does the customer take the hit !

 AGREED ! The problem with constantly making threads of adoration is there is and will be those who call you out with their proofs and findings of misfortunes. Yes every company has a issue here and there. Its how they are handled on a timely manner.  Parts supplies in todays Audio world are much tighter tolerances. Customers should never be the test ground for a work in progress prototype
