Tekton Design MOAB

$4500.
Moab as spelled on their site after a place in Utah but the military reference to the mother of all boxes cannot go unmentioned.
Next giant killer? Anyone heard them?

Looking forward to reading about your impressions. These speakers are intriguing.
Thanks for the update Ray. When you have a little more time, can you give us some more detail on your room treatments and where you're currently positioning the speakers (distance from front and side walls). Thanks.
@wester17 - do you know which electronics they were using when you heard the Moabs? From what I've read, I think they were using both the NewClassic 200 integrated and the JC2/JC5 combination in their room.
" The room used Straight Wire cables but I don't know what level, call Parasound or SW and find out."

Parasound lists the total retail cost of the cables at $850, so they must have been reasonably entry level cables.

Hi Ray - Now that you've had your Moabs for a little while, do you have any further thoughts?

The low frequency cut-off of a driver is limited by it's maximum diaphragm excursion. To deliver a given SPL, the driver has to move further as the frequency is reduced. By using multiple drivers, the low frequency limit can be extended because each drivers is called upon to deliver only a fraction of the total output.

Eric's approach of using numerous smaller and lighter mass drivers to handle the midrange is quite clever.
