Tekton Design MOAB

$4500.
Moab as spelled on their site after a place in Utah but the military reference to the mother of all boxes cannot go unmentioned.
Next giant killer? Anyone heard them?

I must disagree with Mr Salk. I suppose we need to define “high efficiency”. At least 95db or perhaps 98db? I have heard some wonderfully rich, full bodied and naturally toned high efficiency speakers that are not even close to being bright or fatiguing. Here are just a few....

-Coincident speakers
- Audio Note speakers
- Classic Audio
- Living Voice
- Tonian
- Devore
- Silverline

I would even throw in several Tekton models.

Yes, I have wanted and asked churches and other live music events to turn it down! Live music is sometimes so loud that is causes permanent hearing damage. Permanent! 100 dB and over is just too loud for 90-120 minutes of music wether live or at home. This is factual, not an opinion.
Goodness it’s hard to read some of these negative comments as they seem to stem from some place beyond a simple less than stellar demo experience. Less than ideal listening experiences happen all the time in the Aphile world. Right? Sorry, but lots of ignorance and narrow thinking going on here. Tekton makes some great sounding speakers for reasonable money. Period. It takes more than a one or two time listen in a particular room and rig to conclude and judge with all the negative, hyperbolic , overreaching and assumptive negative comments.

I owned the DI speakers and you can’t just plop them down and judge. With proper and intentional effort they can sound rather impressive. Well, the same is true of all great audio gear.

Unfortunately I have witnessed this site become more and more driven by absolute comments often void of any reasoned and moderate judgements. While not perfect, several of these Tekton speakers do some remarkable things in a properly matched and executed total system.

The builder is just a man, father, brother, husband and passionate audio guy. He is filling a market need. If one would just slow down and adopt a positive motivation and intention toward Tekton, then I am confident they would see some good. If you are looking for offense or reasons to put down, then you will always find them. Always.
No, he is just down to earth and passionate about genuine audio gems and value. No pretense or elitism to be found. Some Aphiles are not comfortable with this it seems. Not sure why it leads to personal attacks like the above post? Strange days we live in. Some don’t want diversity of opinion and style, but desire something far more selfish and unhealthy.
What? Goodness that is a harsh and completely uncalled for post based on nothing but conjecture fueled by some out of place anger. It should be removed. Please stop fueling this drama based on nothing as it just makes this site less appealing.
That is exactly what I did to a set of Double Impact speakers.  The result was wonderful! I used Duelund stranded and tinned copper wire in cotton throughout and crossover parts like Path Audio resistors, Jantzen Superior Z, Jupiter VT and Mundorf caps.  Great results!
I also damped the woofer baskets, but did not apply your felt idea. All crossover connections are solderless using clamping devices to clamp the bare wire connections.

I decided to use the stock Jantzen air core inductors on the mids and highs as they are Decent quality. In stock form all the inductors where very close to each other and on the same plane so placing the crossover externally opened up the opportunity to separate the inductors properly. Just no room inside the cab!
