Tekton Design MOAB

$4500.
Moab as spelled on their site after a place in Utah but the military reference to the mother of all boxes cannot go unmentioned.
Next giant killer? Anyone heard them?

+1 @listening99  'Summertime' on her "A Distortion Of Love" album is another.

Give yourself some space to slow things down, so you can really drink it in.

@mindlessminion I’m glad Teajay posted his response to you. It is consistent with what I was going to post and much better articulated.

One, you would be making a mistake to gauge the performance of the DIs AND especially UP THE LINE from there using the Pendragons as a proxy.

Two, though aesthetics are very personal, Eric Alexander’s automotive paint finishes make the speakers standout and are a bargain at his asking price. I vividly remember the Ulfberth BE speakers in audioezra’s room...worrying about the size, fit in the room, etc....but the black metallic and flake finish in combination with the BE drivers as well as the surrounds used on the mid and low range woofers, just worked, at least to these eyes. And the manner in which they conveyed music...oh my!

Only you can speak to your aesthetic preferences BUT I do encourage you to listen to a well set up pair of Encores or Ulfberths (greater numbers out there) or the newer Moab or the previously offered SE speakers. The Pendragons will be a great start point and an interesting comparison point with respect to Eric’s newer speakers, should you get the opportunity to audition.
The link works, yet the main 'Review Page' of 6Moons doesn't show the review.
@malus15   Ray, congratulations! Always wonderful hearing the excitement and happiness expressed when a new speaker choice moves a member as the Moab's have for you.

Keep Break In / Run Time in mind. Once you have 250 hours or so on them... : )
Kudos to Tekton Design and Parasound. From 'part-time audiophile'...

"It took me three times to get into the Parasound and Tekton room, where the amazing little $1195 NewClassic 200 integrated amp/DAC drove the huge Tekton Moabs, which inexplicably cost just $4500/pair. In a system that cost just $7500, including cables, the music was solid, punchy, dynamic and completely convincing. We reviewed another Tekton in the summer issue of The Occasional, and the value of that speaker also seemed to flirt with the impossible."

My thoughts are, I’m very very happy.

@malus15    Congratulations, Ray.

There is another member who loves his Maggies (for years, still does) and brought the Moab in for comparison. He also chose to add the Moab to his system.
+ 1  @daviddas   Thank you for your instructive and helpful post.

I am thrilled beyond my wildest dreams at the extraordinary value the MOABs bring.
