Tekton Design Moab

Ordered a pair just now. In Dark Gray, to which Tammy immediately said, "Oh the Charcoal is beautiful!" Charcoal sounds better than Dark Gray (even though we are talking about the same color!) so Charcoal it is!

My beloved Talon Khorus do still sound awfully good. It will be interesting to see how the Moabs stock out of the box compare with these tweaked and modded warhorses. Both the strength, and the weakness, of the Khorus is using the 10" woofer to cover so much midrange. Its a strength because it makes for a very smooth and cohesive sound. But its a weakness because its asking a lot of such a large driver to go so high. Talon makes up for it with their isobaric design. Mounted inside and directly behind the woofer is another identical driver facing the opposite direction. The idea is this relieves the front facing driver of having to compress the air inside the cabinet. This does allow for a much faster response, and is a big reason for the wonderful music the Khorus produces.

I have a feeling however it is no match for Eric Alexander's ultra-low mass driver array solution. Only one way to know for sure. So we will just have to see!

+1 for Angels Envy, "On The Rocks" of course.
It is my favorite Bourbon
Give Robert Maicks a call at Starsound Technologies
They often have Demos from shows that they can sell cheaper than retail price. I am not sure of the pricing. I know that it also depends on the size that you need.

The Sistrum Apprentice are for speakers as well .
Read the first line , just under the photo of the platform
It says
A New Series of Amplifier, Component or Loudspeaker Platforms

Do I read correctly that you have 2 Paradigm Signature SUB2s. If so, I cannot fathom 2 in 1 room. Unreal output and play down to 9 Hz or 7 Hz at 3db down . That is insane.
Please get a life. Quit obsessing about someone else’s opinion, or what they post.
Must you derail this thread ??
You obviously are not a Tekton fan. We can see that . Please,  LET IT GO... MAN !!!
I have been following the thread and trying to learn.
I wanted to gain knowledge about the Moabs.
Lately, the last couple of times that I have come to check on things it seems that  I have to read more than one page  to get  even get one  post that has  useful info . It is just becoming to unbearable to sort through.
Man oh man,
Where is the info on the Moabs ???
What the Hell happened to this thread ?
Moderators ,can you please close this thread ?
It has become utterly useless, besides that , there is another thread with the exact title that was started b4 this one

What information were you hoping to find in this thread that hasn’t already been covered in the hundreds of posts on the other MOAB thread

I was not looking for an answer to any specific questions . I was wanting to hear what people thought of them and their "Reviews" of the speakers.I am just gaining insight by hearing what people say about them.
Seeing what attributes that owners like or talk about is what i was looking for. Listening to what owners have to say. I am trying to see things like for example, if owners tend to say the same things about certain aspects of them. Am example would be if owners raved about the separation of instruments or spoke highly of the Mid range ...etc.etc .
for example , if all owners said that the Midrange was Excellent or the Bass was the best they have heard . Or seeing if they all speak about the same certain thing that they maybe dislike. That is what i am learning , or at least trying to , about the Moabs
@glupson re. gofundme. Do we know for sure that Raven is the absolute top best choice? Could something like Octave be even better?
Here is a review where the guy compares the Raven integrated Nighthawk III to the German made Octave V40 SE amp.
I will say this.
I had a pair of McIntosh MC30s that were completely redone by Yves Beauvois.
They used 6L6GC tubes.
I have heard quite a few other tube amps .I must say that the 6L6GC is by far my favorite Output tube .
The Mc30s drove my Tekton Double Impacts Very Very well.
They even did Techno or heavy Bass music very well.
I should have never sold them . .....Absolutely my favorite tube amps...ever
You only used vinyl as your playback source ?
Surely you played a digital source like CD , Streamer , or Blu-ray ?
Is his system playback source(s) only Vinyl ?
Surely you played a digital source like CD , Streamer , or Blu-ray ?

Sorry, but no. Instead, we listened to music

I see why you retain the Di¢khead award !!
It is definitely yours !

grey9hound, where did you find the Encore specs?
It wasn’t specs. It was in the Encore thread.. I think.
Someone posted that info and said that Eric told them that.
I read it somewhere,, but i cannot remember where... sorry
I think the Encores dip to 2 ohms or 2.5 ohms at certain lower frequencies. Maybe not nearly as easy to drive as say the Moabs or Double Impact .
Having points only is just mot the same . Try one of the Sistrum platforms before you judge them .
You should not pass judgement on someone else’s review of the equipment, when you have not tried it.
That is only fair.
Listening. That’s the foundation of the method. Yes

Millercarbon ,
They are very good . Stop being a Di¢k anytime someone mentions a product you don’t own.
Just because you are the OP, doesn't mean you own the thread !
I own the Starsound Technologies Sistrum Apprentice SA-SA-103-3.
They are one of the best investment that i have ever made . They are under my Tekton Double Impact speakers.
Read the reviews. Here is one .
BTW , I also use their Sonoran Desert Plateau speaker cables .... outstanding !
How can you be against something that you have never tried ?
This is an explanation of how they work ... below:

The unique direct-coupled Audio Point™ design of Sistrum Platforms allows a pre-determined pattern of energy, known as Coulomb Friction; to develop and dissipate via a high-speed calculated conductive pathway to earth’s ground.

The Result:

Acoustic, mechanical and electrical resonant vibration no longer has a detrimental effect on the quality of speaker systems or components when placed on the SISTRUM PLATFORM™.

The Benefits:

Bass response is tightened, vocals unveil - as the sibilance and pronunciation becomes truly defined, cymbal decays are extended, you will hear more information and notice increases in musical and instrument content. Soundstage increases in height as well as the critical width region. Hear so much more musical quality from the equipment you already own.

Just because you don’t see how something can or cannot make a difference does not make you right.
Do NOT judge something until you have tried it .
Is that not FAIR ? Is it fair to judge a product that you have not tried ?
You have not tried them , so how can you pass judgment on them ?
Oh, I’ve been playing ABBA’s Dancing Queen to see if I can tolerate it and with each improvement/change over the last 3 months it’s become more tolerable. Tonight after a couple of hours of playing music I decided to put that on and holy $#!+ the track was fun, musical

Abba.........Fun and Musical ?
Have you been into the Devils Lettuce ?
Unfortunately it will be a few days before I’m doing that again. Couldn’t catch my breath, went to urgent care, now admitted at Highline with pneumonia
Unfortunately,The devils lettuce can do that to you . I hope you have a speedy recovery
Very Nice but ....Very Expensive !
what is your dream speaker ?
I don't think you know the definition of practical
It means    "sensible and realistic in their approach to a situation or problem."  Or  "suitable for a particular purpose."
I see it as meaning that don't have special veneers or high dollar drivers. They don't put in there anything they don't need .
They do not build them to look pretty . they build them to sound nice ,as it should .It is a speaker.
I would say Tekton speakers  and their design is  "VERY PRACTICAL".
