System synergy

I know there have been a million posts about synergy, and this is why we are all here--to find the just the right combo that works for us best. But I just wanted to say how fun it is to make a little change and experience a HUGE difference in my system. I have had a set of Bel Canto REF 1000 mk ii for about 5 months and they have really broken in nicely. I moved to a new house about a month and a half ago and set up my system using a Bel Canto Pre3, Bel Canto DAC3, and a Bel Canto CD1 for source. Speakers are Dynaudio Audience 82. Cardas Golden Cross XLR cables. I thought it sounded great but for some reason the bass didn't have quite the slam I thought I could get. Even running the DAC3 direct to the amps didn't give it either. So then I ran everything thru my trusty Adcom GFP 750 and man, my hair stood on end. I got another half octave of bass and a wider, broader soundstage. Everything sounds as smooth and detailed as before but it is just fuller, richer, bigger, and gives me those chills we are all after.
