Synergistic calls out Audioholics

Curious to see what Gene does...

@edgewoundtootightly.

Have you ever tried any of their products, or is your opinion based on speculation? Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion, and we all have an equal right to hold on to our opinions. All opinions are not, however of equal value or merit. Opinions are like butts. Everyone has one. Some are amazing, but most are full of $chiit... Thoughts are not facts and beliefs are not truths...
All this SR snake oil BS is over, count them, 7 different threads (one was removed), has turned the whole of the "Misc Audio" forum into a garbage pit of BS.
Thank god it's not in the main amps/digital forums.
I get the distinct impression you are manoeuvering for yet another thread shutdown.

Other companies trying to win business from a competitor is nothing new. It's as old as business in a capitalist society. Sowing doubt is pretty much a regular practice. If doubt is worth it...it's worth it.
"When Gene contacted SR’s dealers and distributors directly that is when it became actionable."

Action being "Oh, we think these are good products. Let us demo them for you and explain all the differences and benefits. We will be happy to answer any question you may have."

Isn't that what dealers and distributors are for?

Quantum Tunneled three prong adaptor, $35.00. Perfect. Just what I need, because the $1.50 Leviton at Home Depot with two additional stickers just doesn't sound "liquid" enough, nor blacken the noise floor.

It's marketing fluff like this that makes fools of people that actually believe it.

Cables should sound like nothing. A cable is not a tone control, nor should it act like one. Physicists roll their eyes at this stuff. The air conditions...temperature and humidity in the listening space will have more affect on the sound than a good quality conductor that's transmitting less than 2 volts over 1-3 feet...at audio frequencies.

The amount of alcohol, caffeine, or THC or whatever your drug of choice is, will have more affect on your aural/brain reception...that's hearing...system than enough conductor to send less than 2 volts over 1-3 feet of interconnect between well designed components will. That goes for a few hundred watts of speaker level signal through good quality 10-16 copper wire at audio frequencies.

The amount of power compression taking place in the voice coils of dynamic loudspeakers, along with the various components of the crossover network with have more affect than the cabling....Oh sorry, the new "high-end, boutique" term now is the "loom".

And...the greater amount of money one spends on the "loom" will most definitely affect the sound of the music coming out of the system...because you want to believe that "more expensive must be better." It's marketing BS over engineering. Engineers that understand the objective performance of materials cannot stand marketing people that simply make up stuff to sell a product through "subjective" standards...because subjective is emotional and cannot be measured without a brain scan to see which parts of your limbic system light up.

If simply more money spent and fluffy marketing terms can make you believe that super expensive cables can tweak a high end system to make more holographic, liquidy, warm, 3 dimensional imaging...A fool and his money will be separated....making you a complete schlub for a "successful" company that took $139,950.00 in PPP money to fund a Ferrari, while letting you bail out his employees in a "downturn"...while making fun of a guy that was knocked down by a covid infection. Companies that are/were doing well during the pandemic weren't qualified to take PPP money...unless the company was dishonest about it. The SBA might just come knocking to audit some financials...unless the the goal is to pay it back.

Just my opinion, of course.
Hey George, just wondering what RCA connectors and hook up wire you use on the Lightspeed.

perkri, do even know how all this crap got started and when ?

One other thing .......... if and I repeat ’if’ it’s true that Mr Denny posted up pictures of Gene’s 13 year old daughter on FB then Gene has more than enough reason(as any father would) to be outraged with Teddy.”

I never posted a photo of Gene‘s daughter. Before I saw this his latest lie, I never even knew he had a daughter. But Gene prove me wrong, show us where I posted a photo of your daughter.

It's not personal abuse George. You don't get to redefine the English language to suit your purposes. Did you actually think that by typing something here on A'gon, that Ted Denny was going to read it and that he's been keeping track of what's going on over here?

You must either think very highly of yourself or your just blowing smoke and evading the fact that Ted is here, which you wanted, and now you're staying at arms length from him.

With all the screaming in capital letters and exclamation marks, the insults and abuse you hurled at others, the posts you got deleted and threads you got shut down (and bragged about) because people stooped to converse with you on your level and then you went and played the victim, all of that was what, an act?

All the best,
Nonoise
I’m wondering why the naysayers are nay saying?

Wait, is that a double negative?

Curious to hear how the Lightspeed sounds.

You lot are going to kill off your own "snake oil" thread with this sort of personal abuse, instead of just collectively just saying the "naysayers"
What if people like Georgie were in charge of running a nation?

Oh, wait ...!!!
Dear George:

Your obsession with fuses is not healthy.

Best regards,

thyname

Again
@georgehifi.
Thankfully, your personality defects are really of no relevance to the wellbeing of the greater population.
Ignorance and arrogance. Terrible combination. Much horror has been bestowed on many people throughout time because of this combination...
Georgie, your response didn't address my question. You're dodging it and not even trying to hide the fact. Are you a man of your word or do you just like to bloviate?

Ted is here and you're off yelling in another direction.

All the best,
Nonoise
Your obsession with fuses is not healthy.

Not just fuses, I was responding to a fuser.
My very healthy obsession’s are with all audio "voodoo" & "snake oil"
Had it up to my ears. Last night I let Gene have it..

Then this thread popped up!

My comment to Gene is found below as "Genez".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgun97VK7y8&t=614s&ab_channel=Audioholics

Allnoise, you must be blind.

He’s been asked many times by me and others, he’s seen the post, and never once responded to back up fusers claims on the sound improvements and directionality of his mains fuses in a technical way.
Curious how many newbies this thread is producing

I signed up just before all this went down, however, I have had a run in with Theodore before, and so have experienced first hand the attempted twisting of the truth, childish remarks, etc.   Gene was not very professional either in this exchange.

Hey Georgie,
Ted's posted twice here and you've been calling him out for the longest time to come here and I've yet to see you post anything on his threads.
He's there for the taking and would likely respond to you. Instead, you take pot shots at him from afar on other threads. What's up with that?

I could be mistaken and it could your posts that were removed for being abusive or uncivil instead of saying something relevant.

All the best,
Nonoise
@georgehifi
Interesting stuff.  To your point - culture comes from the top.  Four reviews from former workers with interesting and somewhat similar quotes.  However, I have found you do need to take indeed and glassdoor stuff with a grain of salt since often only the people with an axe to grind take the time to post.

Besides those who can wait for the clash, and that in the name of a hobby interest, comes the five o'clock news (if there is any with that name) to claim that some or many or most are hallucinating.
Not so long ago people were tossed into flames only by showing innovation or having a wider area of thinking.
Who wants to be in that place or time?
Personally i do not care who will win as long we do not confuse Socrates methods in ethics and epistemology with those of dogmatism.

This is just typical from someone with morals who worked for a shyster company, owned by someone with the morals of a used car/real estate salesman.

This is a company owned by disingenuous and unethical people operating on borrowed time and money.
If you respect yourself and the work you do that has your name attached to it, find a different company than this one.

Cheers George

I have been a longtime member, not new. I have another account from 2011 with 10+ trader history. Logging in using Facebook sso is just much easier 😗
@georgehifi.

Looks like Ted is on AGon. You have been daring him to come here. Your time to shine, now is your chance to confront directly. Making my popcorn now...

Suspect it will have to be enjoyed during my Friday night movie as I doubt you will rise to the occasion
So here is a question. I have a degree in physics and applied mathematics, and I think I can make really good sounding /looking cables, how do I go about pricing my cables? It seems that the pricing is all over the place, and I am not really sure why some cables are much much more expensive than others besides the material quality. The cost seems to be what the manufacturer thinks they can get away with, as no R&D data is published. So how do you go about pricing ?
Thanks
@makido463.

Got it. You’re just spreading unsubstantiated rumors. Very honorable of you.
Kind of like how the election in the states went the other way right? So much more to
it, but no actual facts.
I have tried many many many cables.  A lot of them are not demonstrably better than another.  Do they sound different?  Yes.  I would live with whatever sounded best to my ears.  It just so happens that I have landed with MIT....not the MIT cables most people reference when they speak of comparisons, but recent technology versions.  In my case, special edition cables from Joe Abrams at Equus Audio.  Once heard in a good system, you cannot un hear what they do...they allow the music to flow unhindered and with realistic presence, soundstaging and timbre!  No roll offs, no dynamic constraints and no overemphasis of any particular frequencies.  It’s not subtle...if you compare them to other cables it’s more of a Holy Crap moment then a beard scratcher 👂
@mahgisterI think you answered your own question in the same post.
I Apologize.... 🧐

Sometimes i speak to myself more than i think....
perkri, I having nothing to do with FB, just a relay of what I was told, thus the 'if'. Regardless there 's more to this that you know as well and if you like being fed the baloney from a company that peddles 50 cent fuses for 159 bucks, have at it kid !
@mikado463.

Even stating something of that nature with an “if” in front of it is beyond irresponsible if you do not have irrefutable proof...

But, I guess you are trying to skew the court of public opinion.

mahgister, the obsession is simple, it's an easy way to get audiofools to spend silly amounts of money !
3 threads on this nonesense now, two by Mr. Denny, the SR guy?

The price for publicity (free) is right here I suppose. Plus I doubt anyone much cares elsewhere.

Bad Karma does not pay. I’d give it a rest but carry on if one must.
Wires matter and sound different...

But wires are NOTHING in upgrading power compared to acoustic controls...Myself i bought basic good wires and forget them after that....

I dont understand the obsession about cables... Especially costly one...
perkri, do even know how all this crap got started and when ?

One other thing .......... if and I repeat 'if' it's true that Mr Denny posted up pictures of Gene's 13 year old daughter on FB then Gene has more than enough reason(as any father would) to be outraged with Teddy.
@helomech.

Have you tried any of the products? Do you have first hand experience with them? Were you ripped off by the company?
Also, Fun fact...dug out some old cables I have on hand just to check my ears. They all sound different...sorry Audioholics 😔 Reminded me why I love MIT products...just so much more realistic sounding on every level! My REV MIT loom delivers better tone, articulation, clarity, dynamics, bass definition and extended airy highs.

I do like to try wires with radically different designs that are clear and apparent as opposed to those with slightly different twists on the same old same old.

THose tend to make the biggest differences that actually might matter to me.

WHich is better/best? How much are they worth? No clue. THey are just different enough to sound different....which is better is still a totally subjectively assessment and what works best will vary case by case/system by system.

MIT is one I’ve tried and use. These tend to deliver a less strident top end than most. Probably due to the network box they use which is clearly a thing. The highs are rolled off a bit. I use them for that reason if/when needed.

The other is DNM Reson, my personal favorites and go-to IC. Not shielded but I have addressed that separately when needed. I find the solid wire minimalist design in their ICs deliver a more coherent sound to my ears than any others I have tried. Have not tried their speaker wires. Not sure if such thin gauge wire is really a good idea there, but hey I’m sure some go for it and are happy. Gotta be a lot of profit in such an effective minimalist design like DNM Reson, but not outrageously priced, especially used...very affordable for many, so not a big deal.

The difference between DNM and MIT is about as night and day as it gets I suspect. I can easily tell which is in use at least on my main more resolving setup.

SO just to summarize, I know wires CAN sound different, though not always, maybe even in most cases. The devil is in the details. Also I am not a SR fan. Too expensive, some bad karma, little concrete to back up big claims, and just no reason to deal with all that.
