Switch to bypass the pre-amp bypass

My Modwright pre-amp has a HT bypass but it must be on to work. This burns up electricity and tubes. Can anyone recommend a high quality switch so that I can send a signal to the front speaker mono amps from the processor RCA pre-out, or use the pre-amp for the other sources? I use the processor for movies and rarely SACD, 90% 2 channel and 10% surround. If the sound is audibly degraded I'll just stay with the HT bypass on the Modwright and buy more tubes, but who knows? It might sound better. Kal? Thanks.

Hi Tgrisham

How about the Niles Ausio AXP-1 Auxiliary Input switcher?

It has 5 inputs and one output. Very solidly built and quite hefty. The pictures online don't do it justice.

I hope it can help out in your situation. I use it now and have experienced no loss in audio quality with it in place.

and the rest of your equipment when its on doesnt use electricity ?
Talk to Steve McCormack...i think he was a partner in Modwright, no? He is extremely helpful...i have communicated a few times with him, and he gets right back to you quickly. Good luck. He might even do it for you if you are willing to pay him for it...he continues to do a lot of mods on his old equipment.
