I had one with a fixed and a variable output the variable one also controlled the headphone output...and I am trying to remember what it was.  I know it was none of the Magnums I had.
The McIntosh MR80 was/is a well-regarded FM tuner, and it has a front panel headphone jack with a volume control.  They pop-up frequently on the used markets.
Yamaha CT-7000.  Excellent headphone input with volume control.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Lots of info here if you're looking for vintage gear.

Thanks to all.  If I could turn back time (nod to Cher) I would have kept the CT-7000 and Magnum MD-108
I have a nice silver CT-7000 I'm not using should you want to revisit that time.  :)
