Streamer for oppo 205

So I currently have an oppo 105d which has YouTube, tidal, etc directly in the player. I took a chance on a 205 which I believe does not offer any built in apps. Looking for something not terribly expensive ( a few hundred $$) preferably with an hdmi output so I can feed through the oppo.  Also looking for something with an app for YouTube- introducing my kids to classic rock and other genres through YouTube is quite fun (and it sounds good enough for them) so looking for a better experience than what the oppo 105 offers. Marantz 8802a is my front end so conceptually I could plug directly into it but I’ve played with the hdmi output (using audio quest diamond hdmi) and the balanced outputs from the oppo and it’s night and day. I presume the DAC in the 205 is superior to the 105 hence looking to utilize it.  I’m not married to any particular setup. I think the interface and usability will trump most other things here.   Any suggestions appreciated.

How about Chromecast on the 205? YouTube and Tidal should work with that.
This just one man's opinion:  using an Oppo 205 for almost anything other than playing 4K UHD Blu rays to an OLED 4K TV is like driving a BMW 850i to the grocery store.  I have an Oppo 105D hooked up to a 4K TV. To  play my few 4K Blu-rays AND to do what you are looking for I have a SONY UBP -X800 ($250 or less). I have the HDMI audio out of the X800 into the 105.  I also have both players via HDMI to an LG OLED 4K TV.  I can play anything, stream Amazon Prime (or Netflix) in 4K, YouTube, etc.  Sell the 205, buy a 4K TV, and something like the X800, keep the 105.   The DAC in the 205 is surely better than the 105's, but I doubt you would notice the difference with TV sound.  A second point/question: if you are using an AQ Diamond HDMI cable (another BMW 850i) for audio from the Oppo to the Marantz you are by passing the DAC in the Oppo, so of course the balanced analog outputs sound better.
I have a land cruiser for my every day driving but I digress...  :)   I actually do have the same Sony blue ray player you mention which got relegated to bedroom duties as if I recall it does not have analog outs which I needed for a space as my receiver in that room requires them for zone 2 duties. I’ve literally never used it. I’ll give it a whirl for streaming apps. I do use the oppo as my main music source as well as I have a decent collection of cds and SACDs. My system is decent as far as systems go with revel Ultima 2 all around and a pair of JL Audio F212v2s. So a good front end is what I’m after.  If I like the 205 I’ll probably sell the 105. Thanks for the suggestion on the Sony.
I will second the Sony upb-x800.
I actually sold my OPPO once I bought the Sony as it was then basically redundant.
Video is by HDMI direct to tv.
Audio is by spdif direct into the DAC of my Ayre EX8.

However if you do not have a separate dac you maybe better off as suggested just keeping the 105 for its DAC or.....

Sell both oppos and buy a cheap but capable DAC to run the Sony into and then into Marantz.

Just some food for thought.
I think an Apple TV will fill your needs, has HDMI out, all the Apps you want
And video from Apple TV is excellent.

Just got this Marantz ND8006 to compare against my Oppo 205 as a streamer and DAC. I have to say, I was rooting for the 205, but this thing is just much more musical. I will admit it depends on your personal preference for clinical accuracy (205) versus musicality (ND8006). I am surprised at how much better the Marantz sounds... I’m listening to the Marantz streaming Tidal from the HEOS app versus the Oppo as a Roon endpoint and I very much prefer the Marantz. However, the HEOS app absolutely sucks compared to the versatility and usability of Roon.

I believe Roon will be coming to Marantz soon, and so I can make do until then.

Hi -  not sure what Vidmate is and the oppo is already purchased but not delivered so not sure the maranta suggestion helps much. It also does not appear to play SACDs is that accurate?  To be clear I’m looking for a lowish price thing like fire chrome or Apple TV. I’m sure there are others outthete but being able to use say an app on a tablet to search YouTube and have that play through the 205 would be great. The 105 YouTube app is challenging on the player itself.
When I bought my OPPO 203 I bought a Roku for streaming Netflix and other video and a Bluesound Node 2 for streaming music - Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, etc. as well as all the digital music on my network. I only use the Oppo for watching movies on discs.
