Spectral DMA 400
Initial Impressions:
I spent extensive time listening to the new Spectral DMA 400 mono-blocks amplifier at my dealers show room. The 400s were connected to a large Magico speaker,Spectral pre-amplifier and Spectral reference CD player.
The DMA 400s sounded excellent but not very different and surely not better than the DMA 360 series II. The DMA 360s consistently had a fuller bodied sound with similar detail, sound stage and resolution. This sonic difference was reproducible with any music genre or CD I had listened to.
My conclusion is that the DMA 400s are an excellent product, but if you have the 360s II - it will be waste of money to change, but I encourage you to listen for yourselves.
