Speaker Spikes

I have the Silverline Sonata III speakers. They come with very thin threaded brass spikes. I was wondering if I would change them to the Maple Shade's big heavy spikes would there be any improvements to the sound? My floor is carpeted. If yes, what can I expect in sound?

Spiking down on carpet is not the best I would try putting down some slabs og granet or something like that and placing the spikes on that.

usally different types of spikes once spiked right make little difference.
