Speaker jumper configuration

I saw this one here http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1174930833. Can you do this configuration with all speakers ( with 2 pairs of binding post). For example, i have tyler LSS speakers, can i use this speaker jumper configuration? Im just curios.

If I follow this correctly, you are connecting the upper negative terminal with the lower positive terminal. If I'm not mistaken, you are essentially shorting out the speaker when you do this with a standard crossover.

What are you trying to accomplish?
