sony 9000es

My Sony 9000es is on standby but when I click on open/close the tray will not come out, the power comes on for 2 secs and goes back to standby. I have unplugged the unit for 10 mins. but this did not correct the problem. I don't think there is a disc in the tray. Anyone had this problem?
