Sonus Play Stereo play Mode

Sonos play devices can be paired and run in stereo i read. I was
wondering has anybody done this and assessed the resulting sound.

I was thinking this option would be completely wireless, hence the appeal
for waf, but realize now that i would merely be swapping speaker wires
for power cords, so no real gain there.
