Songs That Sound the Same

I was in the gym today, and bless them, they play different musical genres from time to time. They were playing 60's music and an old Tom Jones song, "Delilah" came on. I noticed immediately that most of it sounded amazingly similar to Fastball's "The Way". My kids and I like to find songs that sound similar, such as:

Tom Jones "Delilah" and Fastball "The Way"
Steve Miller Band "Take the Money and Run" and The Spin Doctors "Little Miss Can't be Wrong"
Elvis Costello "Pump it Up" and The Escape Club "Wild Wild West"
Intro to The Cars "Just What I Needed" and The Ohio Express "Yummy Yummy Yummy"
ELO "Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle" and Mott the Hoople "Jerkin' Crocus"
Of course, George Harrison "My Sweet Lord" and The Chiffons "He's So Fine" (Harrison lost a plagarism lawsuit over that one.)
Intro to The Who "Pinball Wizard" and The Shocking Blue "Venus"

I am sure there are many others. Any ideas? Thanks.

This is a great topic. I hear similarities often, but I can never remember them later. One that comes to mind is that there was a song that was popular on the radio that sounded like a complete rip-off of Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" Can't remember what the song was though. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Regarding George Harrison, I believe the court ruled that, although Harrison did not intentionally plagiarize the Chiffons, he had accidentally written an extremely similar song and was still liable. In an ironic twist, I also believe the Chiffons did a cover version of My Sweet Lord while the suit was pending.
