Yes, I think you have it right, collect ability and rarity.

I have some Blue Note West 61st street originals, among my favorites is Lee Morgan "Sidewinder."

However I just received this week, Lee Morgan "Candy" and Lee Morgan, "Volume 3", plus John Coltrane, "Blue Train" (the last two are mono) as reissues from Classic Records.

In a word, they are absolutely stunning

If you want the music and the titles are available at Classic Records as reissues, you can save yourself a ton of money, be guaranteed a dead quiet pressing and wonderful sound.

We should support their efforts in issuing these ultra high quality pressings of great American jazz.

There's nothing quite as satisfying as playing one for these mint original beauties. OTOH, you pay dearly for the pleasure. I think the "rookie card" analogy is a fairly good one, being the owner of many of both.

Fully support Albert's notion of supporting those reproducing titles at a HIGH level of quality. I've not always been pleased with Classic's outcomes (with respect to quietness), but at least they are making the attempt and are often successful.

It is nice to be one game in front of Boston. I only hope it grows to 2 or 3 games and holds for the balance of the regular season. I don't like the idea of trying to beat out Cleveland for the wild card.
