Is a seven-CD box set tracing his slide guitar virtuosity from his earliest days to his last, just thought I would mention. Interview with his Daughter on NPR

The sonics on the few discs I've listened to so far are very good. I've heard Discs 5,6, and 7 covering his work with Boz Scaggs, Herbie Mann, and the ABB, and they sound GREAT. Kudo's to the engineer and producer.
I AM A LONG TIME DUANE ALLMAN AND ALLMAN BROTHERS FAN AND BELIEVE THAT HE WAS TRULY ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS EVER. I HAVE ABOUT 98% OF ALL OF HIS COMMERCIALLY RECORDED MATERIAL AND WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY '' NEW '' STUFF ON THIS BOX SET BEFORE I BUY IT.
I don't know about new stuff, I have just learned about the recent release and have not yet bought it. Article about new release
Thanks for the link. Disappointed it's not being released on vinyl!
7 cd's? this seems like a dream. Must get one set for myself pronto.
.......I just bought it even though as I had mentioned I have pretty much all of his work. I did see where there is some previously un-released material. What I can see happening is price gouging once all copies have been sold.
Just bought mine today
.......boy I was mistaken as I have been listening to this box set the past few days and I didn't have most of his work as I thought I did. This really is good stuff......I always knew that he was one of the best and this sure shows why. However, at the same time you just have to wonder my goodness what he have been giving us if whe was still with us today ....what the Allman Brothers would have been. This was well worth the money
