SimAudio*Hegel*Mcintosh*Ayre*Others*How Good Is Today's SS???

 I am pleased with the sound from my MacintosH MAC501  Mono blocks. If you love the sound of tubes   Use them in your front end. I have an excellent tube preamplifier from Jolida. For my phono.  I this is my opinion only. Others will completely disagree! 

This question as posed is kind of set up to fail.

If you love the sound of tubes, then that's' what you should listen to. If you declare a particular characteristic about tubes to be ideal, then nothing that isn't tubes is going to satisfy you.

It is kind of like asking "are any other amps as good as 5W SET??" and therefore not one I personally feel the need to stake a claim in.

 Not meant that way..I truly love what tubes bring to a system BUT the drawbacks are starting to outweigh the benefits so I feel the need to explore SS..
