Some IEC outlets are deeper than others. I am using the Shunyata Copperheads and Diamondback power cords and it is the same on some of my equipment. Just make sure the cord fits into the IEC as far as it can go and leave it at that.

Shunyata Venom 3's don't fit?
I just got (3) Shunyata Venom 3's and the component IEC end doesn't fit any of my gear? The end that is inserted into the component is longer than the power cords that came stock, so the cable never "bottoms out" and attaches properly. it's about 1/8" too long which leaves it just dangling there loosely. This is for a Cary SLI-80, EAR 834P, PS Audio Duet, and also my Jolida JD9A. What am I missing here?
