Should interconnects stay put for best transfer??


I have a really nice set of Ecosse Maestro 2 interconnects that i have been jockying around from component to component.I have heard some mention that this is not the best idea as the cable need to settle it to what you have them plugged into.Is this accurate or is this statement overblown?I also have some straightwire but i have several components to hook up and really liked the sound of the ecosse but it was pricey(at least for me it was).So i have been trying to be careful and move it around as i listen to different units.Just was wondering if this is a really bad idea.Yeah i know PHYSICALLY it isn't the best but i am talking sonics here.

So Ramses you are saying when i move the cable i must start the break in process all over again to form the ideal microwelds between the crystals?Am i going back to point 0, and/or how many hours of break in would you think is lost in a disconnection etc....?
I know this is picky but i am just really curious to all of this as i am sure others may be too.I am knew to buying interconnects and i may just have to get another set of the maestros if what you are saying is true but i was hoping not to have to go that route to save some hard earned $.

AS SIGNAL PASSES, MICROWELDS ARE FORMED BETWEEN CRYSTALS, THIS ACTUALLY IMPROVES THE TRANSFER YIELDING BETTER SOUND. THESE WELDS ARE BROKEN (ACTUALLY CRACKED) WHEN THE CABLE IS MOVED.
INTERCONNECTS TAKE LONGER TO WELD THAN SPEAKER CABLES. POWER CORDS ALSO ARE AFFECTED.
THE FORMING OF MICROWELDS IS ALSO REFERRED TO AS "BREAKING IN" THE CABLE(S).

Connections that remain intact for a long period of time are prone to introducing distortion. I'm not saying that one should loosen and re-connect their cabling at every listening session, but simply pulling and re-seating the connections can sometimes be of benefit.

As far as moving / bending cabling goes, just be careful and don't bend / kink the cable. Gentle movement with very soft radiuses will do the least damage and allow the cable to perform at its' best for a long time to come. Sean

Trust your ears. Be careful when plugging, unplugging and moving. Take advantage of the moves and clean the cable and component connections from time to time since they are unplugged anyway. Should be fine. Happy listening.

If it works for you then go right ahead. It is a good way to save on a megabuck cable. No reason to suffer just because other people think the cable is better left alone. Your listening enjoyment would suffer.

It will break-in with a signal going through it, even though not the same source.
