Service Von Schweikert?????

Does anyone know how to contact these people? Are they still in business. I want to listen to the VR33's before I purchase these Aerial 7b's and they won't respond to e mail and the phone goes straight to answering machine. I'm a little suprised because all hear is good things about Al.

Please chime in on your thoughts Aerial vs VR33. Room is 10x18x9. Treated. Jolida 801A reference series upgrades. VPI Scoutmaster W Van den Hul mc10
Check the Von Schweikert owner's circle at for info re: the VR-33. There are a couple of owners over there. I can't comment on the lack of phone/email reply. Maybe they aren't answering because today is Saturday?
I haven't needed any service for my speakers, but I've found Albert and others at Von Schweikert to be extremely responsive to e-mails.
I guess I'll wait a little longer. I e mailed on Thursday and left a message on the phone yesterday.
I have always had good luck calling during business hours Pacific time zone. It is not unusual at all for Albert to answer the phone. My experience has been extremely postive in dealing with VSA.
They seem to take some Fridays off. Albert is a gent- I had many dealings with him.
Kgturner gives good advice. Check here.
Ok, so that link doesn't work for some reason. Try
this instead.
Albert can be a bit of a character, but once he gets involved in solving a customer's problem things progress quickly.

To the point: I sent the top sections of my VR4 II-SE's to Von Schweikert for an upgrade package they were offering some time ago. After 175 days, I still did not have them back. I called and emailed many times. No results.

Then, I called and started punching numbers on the phone pad - 1 (secretary?), 2 (shop floor?) - you get the idea. Finally, I punched a number and Albert answered the phone on his desk. Once I spoke to him, my speakers arrived a week later. Try calling and punch in some single digit numbers and see if that works.

I now own his VR4SR-III. Thus far there have been no problems.
Sounds good, I'm only an hour away so I may just drop in during business hours.
So Albert e-mails me and states that he has no VR33's to demo but gave me the e mail addy of a physician who just bought some. He says to contact this guy to go to his house and hear the speakers. He said this guy is amenable to having people come listen. A little strange, but ok I guess.
If trying to buy something from him is so difficult. Imagine needing service from Albert. Not sure. IMHO.
My phone rings, I answer, its Albert. I picked his brain for 45 minutes. He showed me reviews of VR33's with a Jolida amp like mine. He explained how he kept the price so low. I ordered a pair with the bi wire option which is $100 more per speaker. He said the speakers should be ready in three weeks. I can demo them for 90 days, if I'm not happy, full refund. Can't go wrong there. I really liked the Aerial 7b's so hope these don't let me down.
Albert is really fun to chat with. Please keep us posted on the 33's!
