help me settle an argument please:
how do you determine which speaker is left and which is right?
the orientation from the speakers position or yours facing it...

I hope you mean asymetric speakers. If so, the tweeter faces you in the closest to the center position.

Facing the speakers i.e. from the audience's perspective. It is the opposite from the performer's perspective which is referred to as "stage Left or Right".

Facing the speakers of course. This matches the connections on the rear of the components, and any balance control that may be on the preamp.
