Review: B&W CDM-Cnt Monitor

Category: Speakers

Musical tastes aren't really applicable to this speaker, I listen to CDs in stereo mode so this speaker isn't used. The true value is found while watching movies. My wife and I watch a lot of action and adventure movies. We used Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Lord of The Rings, Fellowship of the Rings to audition and test this speaker.

The important things about this speaker are the full range and transparency. The speaker is able to be bi-wired which is a strong advantage.

I've been using this speaker since Nov. 2002 and replaced an Infinity center channel. The change was a big improvement and very welcome.

The strengths include the clarity and transparency, and as stated above, being able to bi-wire it. For the price, this is a good buy.

No real weakness can be identified.

If money weren't an object I would probably upgrade these speakers with something really expensive, but don't see making a change in the near future.

You haven't even heard this speaker sing till it's isolated on Sound Anchors Center Speaker Stand using Blu-Dot's, w/ 4 spikes & the stainless steel Sound Coasters.
I've enjoyed this speaker for over a year, but felt like a newer speaker when I went to separates. The midrange is more pronounced as expected from a higher end processor and a quality amplifier. Always enjoyed the quality of this center as a strong focal point during 5.1 playback.
