Review: Auricle Audio Design Encore KA Interconnect

Category: Cables

So where does the ‘quest’ begin. Is it a neighbor’s pricey system, the high-end room at the stereo store, the audio show….? That ‘sound’, that openness, that big soundstage. But how do I do it on my budget; and my wife? Trading up; trading down; tweaks and treatments; cables and wires; dacs and players. Some good; some not so good. Every once in a while you try something and it’s almost magic. Most changes are incremental or ones you have to convince yourself of because you just spent a bunch of money on it; or sometimes you just begin to wonder if any of it really matters. Maybe its just my imagination; maybe she’s right, “get those cute little Bose speakers” she says. Recently I had one of those “wow!” moments; I got a set of Auricle Audio Design -Encore Ka-RCAs from Joe Mazzaglia. He said be sure to give them a few days of break in, so I put them on our little shelf system that runs 24/7. As soon as I hooked them up, I knew I was in for a treat! Cymbals came out of nowhere, voices got smoother and mellower, the soundstage got bigger. I found myself wanting to listen to my little background system. I wanted to rip them off of it and put them on my main system, but I waited for the break in. Wow! The Ecores are amazing. I got more of everything when I put them on my main system; soundstage, detail without harshness, everything. The ultimate test: even my wife noticed. Anyway, get them, try them; you’ll be amazed and pleased. Plus Joe is a great guy and very honest. Get some cables from him and the goose bumps are free. john eisner, Fort Collins, Colorado
