Review: Audioquest 6+ Speaker cable

Category: Cables

Musical tastes include mostly Jazz and classical, testing was done using John Williams "American Journey" and Moussorgky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

The most important aspects of these pieces include the clarity, reproduction of the many intricate and exposed "voices" within each of the pieces. Bass response and accuracy are also strongly considered.

The worst thing that could happen is a "muddy" sound when reproducted by the speakers. Additionally, harsh mids and highs are rather annoying.

I had these cables for approximately two months before replacing them with a set of Audioquest Slate cables. I still use two of them to bi-wire my center channel. They were the first cables that I purchased with the Rotel and B&W speakers listed above.

The strengths include the price and capability for being an entry level cable. Weaknesses include bi-wiring, you have to run a second cable.

If you don't have very high end equipment this cable isn't a bad choice, but know that there is better out there.

I don't mean to be grumpy, but I am not sure what is being reviewed here. Is this Audioquest Type 6 speaker cable?

In any event, the text as written is very difficult to follow, and I'm not really sure that there is a review in here. You state that: "The worst thing that could happen is a "muddy" sound when reproducted by the speakers. Additionally, harsh mids and highs are rather annoying." If this is in fact the worst thing that could happen (in your opinion I assume), I must ask if this really DID happen.

I could go on, but some serious clarification may be in order on many points.
