Review: Audio Magic Stealth XXX AC filter

Category: Accessories

Prior to owning the XXX AC purifier I have been using the Reference Mini Stealth for about 4 years which is excellent, however the XXX far surpasses it in refinement. I purchased a well broken in demo unit and have been listening for about 10 days. This unit is passive with several components to filter RF and EMI noises including built in Quantum Physics noise disrupers. It is not current limiting and has surge protection. Please see manufacturers discription for more details. (All my equipment is listed in the virtual system category.) The XXX amplifier section is totally isolated from the line section. There are two amp duplexes, two digital duplexes and two for other line components. Each section has two filter matching switches to fine tune the matching. I easly found my preferences, but others need to work at it more. It takes about 500 hours to burn in this AC Purifier.

Now for what I like about the XXX. (It has no weaknesses in my system.) The music has a quieter background, dynamics are more exciting, smoother more detailed and very natural sounds of instruments and voices. There is no brightness or edge. The highs are very extended and airy. The bass is very tight tuneful and plenty deep. The sound stage is wide, deep and images well defined. What I like best is the ability to here the decay of instruments, reverberation and ambience. In summary the XXX just makes the music sound more realistic with natural timbers and no fatigue factor. It truly purifies the sound like windexing glass, everything is much clearer! I prefer opera, other classical music and jazz. The opera and jazz give me a you are there experience. The XXX is highly recommended. It has improved my audio system at least as much as replacing a major component for a lot less! Please see the other reviews on this product elsewhere online

Thanks for the review and congrats on a very nice power conditioner. I have a fully tricked out AM Matrix and my observations were right in-line with yours. It was a real eye-opener to have more details, clarity, and naturalness to the music. Voices and instruments were clearly in their own air and space.

Now add the AM Pulse Gen ZX to your system components and be ready to be even more amazed.

I'm currently writing a review for the AM Pulse Gen ZX and will post soon.
So do you still like the Stealth?

Has something better come along?
