I used a homemade cable first using 2 runs of Monster wire which yielded significant improvements over the stock wire. I purchased the Speakons off ebay for like $15 pr. (I was using a Storm III)
I then got a pair of Signal Cables and the difference was astounding. Much more articulated bass, faster. I would highly recommend you at least make your own cable, however with all the raw goods price, you may as well just spring for the Signal cable.
