Rega Planer 3 Center hub and bearing issue???

I just recieved my second Planer 3 and it was shipped with the center hub removed. These are not supposed to be removed because it might disturb the special thick lubricant it is installed with at the factory. I put it back together and the belt slips. Replaced the belt and it still slips. I'm assumming the center hub and bearing needs to be repacked. Does anyone have experience with this?

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW.MY REGA 25 DOES THIS AND IT IS NEW
AND THE BEARING HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED

Thanks Jim for the info, ive decided to replace the belt
although it is new because it is slightly deformed in one spot, probably from sitting,,,waiting to be bought.
everything else seems to be ok. I use this table with a kontrapunkt a and it grooooves in a big way.
P-25...kontra a....spectral dmc-6....dma 180...= It never sounded this good in the 70s.
