Record clamps

CAn anyone suggest a LIGHTWEIGHT record clamp? I will be using it with a Yamaha PX-2 linear tracker I resurrected and an Ortofon Kontrapunkt B. I don't want an expensive or a heavy one. I looked at Needle Doctor but don't know which way to go.

The Sota I-Clamp is relatively light weight and easy to work with. I've used it on suspended tables that were not very "beefy" with no problems whatsoever. Just make sure that you don't "clamp" the record down, you simply want to hold it seated to the platter. This is a very common mistake and why some people never have good luck with a clamp. Sean

Take a look at them for yourself. Here's a link to a selection of record clamps that are available from Jerry Raskin's Needle Doctor. The Sota is more costly, but it is also more rigid and offers better clamping action in my opinion. I have both the Michell ( came with a table when i purchased it ) and I-Clamp along with two Sota Reflex's and a few other misc clamps. For the money, especially if you can find a used I-Clamp on Agon or Ebay, i think it is a bargain and the better of the two models mentioned. I think that my I-Clamp set me back $30 on Agon. Sean
