I still have my first CDP which was bought for me in the 80's. Replaced the belt, works as good (or bad) as new. I'm very pleased w/my other CD players, a Rotel RCD-971 and NAD 521i. Based on my experiences, I'd look for an NAD 541i or a Rotel. If you like your CAL, sure....Buy a used DAC and see how things sound. Worst case, you could use on another CDP or resell. Bill.
