Rare Thorens TD 535, direct drive, vertical pitch control similar to Technics SL1200MKII

Just discovered the existence of this rare Thorens this days, very interesting direct drive turntable, that appears that was made in order to compete with the Technics SL1200 MKII.

Wondering why is so rare, anyone had the opportunity to listen to this table?

TD535 is bulky, it has floating base as TD520 and the same thonearm. They even used straight TP90 as tonearm. To sum up it's more less interesting machine for home use. Although it's from very beginning not capable to compete with SL1200.
