Radio Station CD Players? What kinds?

I was listening to Morning Edition on NPR this morning when I heard some wonderfully recorded violin music. Even from my car stereo, it sounded great. The recoring was nice but the playback sound was warm and very non-digital.

Made me think; What kind of CD players do high end radio stations use to play back their CD's? Sounds like one for the home would be nice?
