"e" upgrade for Audience Au24 speaker wires

I have an 8' pair of Au24 speaker wires that I bought in 2002 for $1,200. Audience is now offering to upgrade older wires to their "e" version which, I guess, is silver plating. They want $300 for the upgrade.

They also have Au24 jumpers available: $680 for the "e" version and $380 for the regular version.

Does anyone have any experience with this "e" upgrade?

Do these prices seem too high?
