Question Regarding Clearaudio Concept Power Supply

Hi there,

I recently received a great deal on a used Clearaudio Concept. I noticed the Power Supply that came with is 6v, but have read the Concept requires a 12v power supply. Guessing this PSU is not the provided OEM one, and am safely assuming motor and speed performance is being affected. So I’m looking to upgrade.

Currently considering the iFi iPower 12v for only $50. But also been looking at the Russ Andrews Powerpak II 12v which is $144.

Anyone have experience with either of these two products? Is it worth paying an additional $100 plus cost of a power cable for the Russ Andrews? Or will the iFi iPower suffice?

Thanks!
Matthew

@noromance  & @mijostyn,

Thanks for replying!  I have en email over to Clearaudio to confirm the voltage.  The Concept manual, and webpage, doesn't specifically list the PSUs voltage, but a lot of third party review sites and Linear PSUs for sale, claim 12v.  But you're right that I need to confirm with Clearaudio first.

One indication from Clearaudio is their Smart Power 12v, which claims to be compatible with the Concept.
@bomd That's not an indication. That's a confirmation. Why would Clearaudio manufacture a 12v power supply for the Concept if a 12v power supply was inappropriate?
