Question on the Philips 963 SA

I may have a misunderstanding with the DVD audio format. Reviews state that the 963 does not read DVD audio but my player reads the two dics I have with no problem. Are the dics that are not readable audio only? Thanks in advance and good listening.
Yes, DVD-Audio discs have no "Video" material, just high resolution audio and menus w/ lyrics, pictures, etc.
It is probably reading the DVD layer (not the DVD-A layer).
THis will give you DVD sound quality (approx. that of MP3).
Thanks for the responses. Arni one of the two DVD audio disc I have(Grover Washington JR) includes a photo gallery & lyrics. I may however as Bignerd states be hearing the DVD non-audio layer.
