the speaker should be placed flat down onto the Svelte? what coupler I should use underneath?  Precision Couplers?
Call Peter at Symposium tell him what kind of floors you have he will know as he is the owner and manufacturer.
You should also go to Vandersteen's website and do the 'ask Richard' pull down.  That's the best place to start since he designed them and knows the answer I promise.
I actually did that, and RV suggested 2inch black granite with stock spike other than isolation feet. But I have stone tile floor, and concrete underneath so I though I may just need a pair good feet.
You can try the Iso-Acoustics Gaia and if they don't sound any better send then back through Amazon.
Start with the Vandersteen spike shoes, machined Aluminum cups the spike fit into
they have a felt pad to protect your tile.
they will also preserve the geometric relationship in the manual for tilt, ear height, distance to speaker.
iMO start there. Award winning sound possible that way.....

I did mentioned Iso-Acoustics Gaia to RV, and RV suggested put a 2 inch thick black granite on the floor and set the Quatro with its stock spikes on top will give much greater time improvement........may just stay with stock feet during speaker set up process.
Yes they stock them
i have them under both my Treo and 7 with hardwood floors
jaclyn in parts can get them out to you

Great idea Tomic, thanks so much.
Granite does not make Vandersteen speakers sound brighter. Better bass, sound staging and more focused. So excited to get them in after talking to Richard and friends about them. :)
One thing to understand is that most all Vandersteen feature cabinet within a cabinet construction WITH a proprietary constrained layer damping between cabinets, so the cabinet is not vibrating a lot.
RV is data driven and the 7 cabinet is his reference which adds an autoclave cured carbon fiber wrap to the above mentioned construction- the Treo is remarkably inert and weighs 85#, Quattro even more massively constructed!
try them out with factory spikes, shoes
try them out
get a baseline
then try other products
hard to beat the Amazon return policy

where I can get a pair 2 inch thick black granite with reasonable price in bay area? I think I should still try it as RV advised.
I steered you wrong
service via Factory, parts via your dealer
sorry about that!

Guys, granite usually comes in 1.5" slabs.  Get a set of 3" and put 4 more washers on the rear spike and see how that works out.  Go to any place that sells/makes granite counter tops.  Shouldn't cost more than $300 for the pair. I went 1/2" boarder around the speaker for my size.  Measure them though as the size is a bit different than what's on the site.
@tomic601 No problem, RV told me just give dealer a call to order. I'm still waiting for my Leica DISTO to arrive. BTW, where I should get test track?
@ctsooner Yeah, RV suggested 2inch thick but it seems 1.5" or 3" is more common, I able to find one 12x18 3" for only 76 online plus 40 shipping online, my local shop ask 180 for one 12x22 2".
@zensview you can download Vandertones at Vandersteen website
burn a CD or play thru streamer
use caution
i also assume you have the Radio Shack Analog SPL meter ?
what amp are you using ?
need to verify input impedance to properly set the M5-HP crossover
2". rut roh...did I order the wrong thickness.  I better find out tonight and change if it's not too late.  wow. thanks.

@tomic601 I  I did matched impedance for M5 high pass output, and my tube amp input, I do have a Meterk Digital Sound Level Meter, should I better stay with Radio Shack Analog SPL meter for Quatro wood setup? I have to look for one!
Zee
yes you need the RS Analog , the Vandertones are calibrated to that
it should be $30-$40 on ebay

@tomic601 Sure will grab it, Thanks!
@ctsooner RV just replied that both 1.5 or 3.0 granite is OK as long as compensate for the tilt, time and phase aligned. Guess you can stay with what you have, that will also make me easier to find a pair now. 2 inch is just rare to find.
thanks so much. Yes, Rutan (NJ Dealer) just told me that 3" is fine. I thought that's what Richard originally told me to get.  I'm excited.
@ctsooner Wondering where did you order your 3". my local granite shop asking price is way too high, so far lowest price I able to find online for 3" granite is here:
https://www.grizzly.com/products/Grizzly-18-x-24-x-3-Granite-Surface-Plate-No-Ledge/G9654
but the shipping cost to my door will be even higher than the granite price:(
I went to a local countertop shop and they are epoxying two 1.5 pieces together to give me a pencil edge on top, polished piece in the right custom size.  I paid $280 or something like that total (that included tax).  I will go with a big friend with an appliance dolly to pick it up and he will place them under the speakers. I have MS and won't be able to pick up a thing, lol.
