Would love to hear from MillerCarbon in relation to the Yellows.

Thanks. Starting with factory fuses a few years ago I went first to Synergistic Blue and then Orange. These were in my Melody integrated, now Raven Blackhawk. Also used in the Herron phono stage. Haven't tried fuses in any of my subwoofer amps or CDP.

QSA Light Blue was more clean and clear than Orange. Was quite surprised how much better. This is what I would call the signature characteristic of QSA, this clarity of detail. Individual instrumental threads stand out with lots of air around them.

Even more so with Violet. This QSA Violet is so good that after hearing what Frank had to say about SR Purple vs QSA Yellow I can't see any point in comparing. Violet will trounce. As it should, seeing what it cost and all. I would sure hope so.

The contest is between SR Purple and QSA Yellow, as they are real close in price. Unfortunately I haven't had time to do a direct comparison like Frank has. My Yellow only went in a couple days ago. Last night we were without power. WA, like CA, is run by boobs who don't want anyone to have power and so guess what? A lot of us don't! You will have nothing, and be happy. Right.

Where was I? Oh yeah, Yellow. Mine went in the Herron. That thing has so many tweaks and mods I can hardly get at the fuse holder any more. So many tweaks, even my tweaks have tweaks! This is when I remember oh yeah, I painted the SR Orange with Krissy magic, and coated the ends with TC. Krissy magic is $60k/gal Rustoleum, dang I forgot about that, not exactly a fair fight. Oh well.

You know its good in my system when it sounds good right off the bat, don't even need to warm up to hear it. Yellow was like that. First track sounded better than the last track the night before, when everything was nice and warm. I listened to Yellow a couple hours and it just kept getting better and better. Of course I was paying special attention to the midrange since that was Franks problem area but never did hear anything even slightly concerning there.

First thing that hit me, aside from that trademark clarity, is a huge improvement in the bass. Lots of bass notes I had thought had real good articulation now had a simply astounding amount of tone, not just pitch definition but real character, more like I would associate with guitar or violin than bass. Really, really nice bass! Top end extension is excellent, and I just can't find anything to complain about in between.

Was planning on running Purple head to head but just don't know that I will bother now. My sense of it from what Frank said (and experience with other SR) is their Purple will be just a tad smoother/warmer and the Yellow just a tad more pristine.

I just don't see how you can go wrong with any of these. Everything from SR Blue all the way up to QSA Violet, they are all so good it is really hard to believe all this is coming from 1" of fuse. But it is.

One last thing, if you buy Purple it is their top fuse. You can return no questions but there is nowhere higher until they come out with their next one. QSA has the same no-questions guarantee, but Mike also gives you 90 days to trade up with full credit. Which you might well want to do. I did.
joenies-
Just wondering how long have you been waiting to receive your fuses.
I ordered 2 for my mono amps, received 1 after 5 days. It’s been more than 2 weeks now and still no second fuse.
thanks

Stones are shipped expecting next week. Fuses are expected to ship next week, but could be the following week.

My orders always start with email to Mike at tweekgeek.com letting him know what I am looking for. He emails back what he has and when he expects to get in whatever he doesn't have. Then if I am okay only then does he send me a PayPal invoice.

There are other ways you can do it but this is the one from the tweekgeek website that I follow. It is a little unusual but it works great this way.

I have one pair of each of the three stones coming. Anyone with experience with tips on where to try them? I have a bunch of ideas and welcome more.
PayPal invoice paid. Should have stones next week, Violet and Yellow fuses a week or so after that. I'm assuming the Stones are similar to Krissy's eCards and eMats and so will try them in the usual places around transformers, power supplies, etc. Real curious to hear the different effects.
Huh, well that is strange. Ozzy had posted saying he wasn't getting response to his emails. So I emailed Mike and got a response and he is sending me a PayPal invoice. Total elapsed time 22 min. Now Ozzy post is gone.

Anyway, just so everyone knows, emailed Mike my order request, the reply was fast and he has the Stones in stock (all 3 versions) and will have to order Violet and Yellow fuses, which could be next week but probably the week after.

Totally expected as they are after all listed as Special Order on the site. tweekgeek.com
Michael has always been responsive to me. Was about ready to order anyway so just emailed him about it. Want to upgrade my Blue in the Blackhawk to Violet, Synergistic Orange in the Herron to QSA Yellow, and getting one set each of the three stones Red, Blue and Clear.
Same here with the Blue. Sounds so good, got me keen to try the even better ones.
Even a casual glance across the landscape- cars, houses, food, lawnmowers, watches, sunglasses - pretty much every single thing you can think of is made better by..... making it better. Every. Single. Thing.

How dense do you have to be to miss that?

Yet somehow out of an entire universe of things that are made better by making them better the one single sole exception is the fuse. The cheapest crappiest Buss fuse simply cannot be improved upon.

This is their position. Seriously. This is their position.
When he posts, click the little "Report this" flag. Select "Other". In the space below type "off topic".

Alternatively, select "abusive to another member" and explain how. Typically it is name-calling, with "fuser" being most popular. But he has others.

FACT: It is more effective to ignore and report than engage. He never does engage anyway. All it gets you is more insults.

For proof of this FACT, please see above.
Haven't tried Yellow. Only compared Orange to QSA blue. It is not recessed, but way smoother through the midrange than Orange. Planning on getting Yellow and Violet. Tweekgeeks.com gives three months to trade up. Two months to go on that, which I plan on using to allow all the other new stuff to settle in. So we will see.
It is as simple as click Report this, click "Other" and type the words, "off topic". Done. Gone.

Usually he is insulting other members, calling them "fusers" "shills" and sometimes in combination, "fuse shillers" like above. When he does this click Abusive.

Then in comments ask why he is allowed to post when all he does is insult others for nothing more than trying to make their systems better?
Can't argue with that. I found red to be the least impact, with only a very small improvement in making the sound a little smoother or more liquid and very slightly deeper. Maybe good for someone with a lot of SS or digital or anything wanting a bit less glare or grain.

Blue was more obvious, and Clear most of all. Any one alone could be used to fine tune a system without changing anything too much. All together, which is how I'm using them, I found the combination to be fairly well balanced.
Yes, they are lined up L to R across the top of the transformer cover. Not the prettiest things it would be nice to find a better location but the sound the other night was so good, Sinatra-Basie always a good one but after putting some hours on the amp watching Free Guy and late at night OMG so incredibly good!
Ignore the negative posters and they will slink back from whence they came and hide behind the moniker they’ve created here to just bully others as they have nothing positive to give, or anything better to do.

Amen.
What you said earlier was when looking at the IEC with ground below the fuse (power)  goes R to L. That works with mine on everything I have tried so far.
Ozzy-
But, I do have to wonder what could possibly make the QSA fuses improve the sound quality.

Also Ozzy-
I just received my red QSA fuse today. I also applied the 1260 to the end caps.

So there you go, something like 1260 can make them better. Doesn't even have to be end caps or wire. Can just be something added, like under the paper.

Or on the outside. Ever notice the gray gob on all the SR fuses? Same gray gob on their outlets too, by the way. Look at the more expensive QSA fuses. Notice they have stuff stuck on the outside. Almost like they need to add more secret sauce and so stick it on the outside.

The secret sauce is exactly what it is too by the way. Yes they can zap em with a million volts. Yes they can cryogenically treat them. Yes they can use all kinds of alloys and coatings and special materials and means of bonding it all together.

Yes to all of that stuff. Which is why it is sort of puzzling to me why anyone wonders what they can be doing? With all these things to choose from the real question would seem to be what are they NOT doing! 🤣

PPT by the way was a prime example of this. Total Contact was just some goop you spread around. Mats were the same goop only applied to a refrigerator magnet. AC outlet covers, RCA grounding plugs, all the various doo-dads were just that- doo-dads. All just different delivery methods, different ways of getting the goop where it will do some good.

This is what I was saying some time ago about this being a new Golden Age of sound. People are just now starting to figure out the real magic isn't really in the wire. Current, volts, all these crude numbers we all think mean so much, they are every bit as primitive as I have been saying. The real magic is in the fields. That is where the real music happens.

Frank I think knows what I'm talking about. He's got his field control goop all over the place. There is nothing else like it. Anyway, that is "what could possibly make the QSA fuses" (and a lot of other stuff) "improve the sound quality."
So I tried the Stones last night. Two each Red, Blue, and Clear. They sound pretty much as described on the site. Except they don't just work in those areas alone. In other words the Red isn't just for lower range. They all work across the whole band. It is sort of like they are all doing the same thing but with a slightly different flavor or balance.

It was only one night so not a huge amount of time to try them everywhere. I like to start small and places it shouldn't work, so put the first one on the Sovereign motor pod. Wasn't expecting much, didn't get much. Oh well it is only one and a motor after all.

Moved it to the Raven, on top of the center cover which is where the power transformer should be inside there somewhere. Okay this definitely is a little better. Not a lot but realize this is one Stone, two per package, so $43 for the one, I guess maybe it is $43 worth of improvement.

Gradually adding them one at a time until all 6 are in a row on the cover. I like the Red the least so put them on the outside, Blue closer to the middle, Clear between Blue and Red.

Each one alone is okay but kind of missing here and there. All 3 types combined together is magic! I was having my most enjoyable listening experience, ever!

The combination of all 3 Stones together is smoother, deeper and more natural than compared to say the one Blue QSA fuse. Which I guess is about right since 3 sets of Stones costs a lot more than the fuse. If the budget was $80 I would say get the fuse. No doubt. When the budget gets more up around the price of three sets, this is about the price of a Yellow fuse and I haven't got my Yellow yet so can't say. But the fuse can be used one place only so Stones might be the way to go for someone who likes to move stuff around and experiment more.
oregonpapa-
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around just how good this fuse is. As it has continued breaking in, the midrange is coming into its own very nicely. There is a concrete realism that was not there before. The human voice is amazing.
That is quite the statement, knowing as I do your standard for "good". But even knowing that as I do, I would have to agree. And I haven't even heard Yellow yet, but only the light blue one. Just spectacular, head-shaking good stuff. I'm even thinking of trading my blue in towards a yellow, and also maybe a violet. You only live once, right? (That we remember, anyway.)
"there is an arrow on the fuse tube." So what! All AC voltage/current is unidirectional!

Uh, "unidirectional" means "in one direction". Hence the arrow.
The last thing you want to do with a touchy topic like this is post a couple hundred words of poorly translated word salad. Because even with perfectly pristine prose such as mine haters still find ways of twisting it to fit their predetermined narrative. With poorly processed Goolag translated word salad they can have a field day. And nothing you can say to stop them because the truth is that whole thing says next to nothing anyway. I only hit a few points. The whole thing is garbage.

I'm sorry people understand electricity so poorly they don't even know what a fuse is, or does, or why. Have yet to see the part of electricity they do understand. "Lethal voltage!" is about the extent of it. Not that it matters. Don't need to understand a thing, except that you put one of these fuses in and you better be prepared to have your mind blown.

Say whatever you want. These things work.
It is unfortunate the article begins with the false notion of the fuse being there to protect the component. The fuse is NOT there to protect the component! The fuse is there to protect the HOUSE!

Takes about one millisecond to understand the fuse cannot protect any component. Does a fuse stop a tube burning out? How is a fuse going to prevent a resistor or cap or transistor burning out? They will and do all the time. All the fuse does is if this fault causes the component to draw too much current, such as with a short, that could generate enough heat to start a fire. Then and only then does the fuse do its job by burning out, which otherwise could result in a fire.

Other thing unfortunate is fricken Goolag translate:
Every issue of Chinese and foreign audio magazines is always uninterrupted, with unremitting spirit to face and solve, with strong comprehension, can draw inferences from one another, and many audio mysteries can penetrate the mystery.
Clear as mud, but it covers the ground.
After chewing the text, I feel that some of them are illusory and vague.

I'll say.

This part though is interesting:
metal activation technology: increase the amount of electrons flowing in molecules per second, and the larger the increase, the better the effect, which can increase the dynamic range and sound density.

Okay, well electrons are subatomic particles. Molecules are combinations of atoms. So conflicting scales. Molecules do not flow, only electrons. You guys caught that one, right? Once again clear as mud. But at least we get the idea, there is some underlying reason why these things are so much more dynamic and clear.

I did find one useful bit of possibly solid information:
Series, respectively, A-Analog for analog equipment; D-Digital for digital equipment; S-Sub-woofer for active subwoofer; V-Video for video equipment. The four series are tuned to make the equipment unique effect.

Is this correct? Or another translation snafu? Because when I ordered mine off tweekgeek.com there was size, color, and fast/slow. That's it. No A, no D, no S or V.

Awful lot of reading to wind up with more questions than answers. But, thanks.
Great thread idea! This is where the real advances in audio are coming from, and will be for the foreseeable future. The old school stuff audiophiles are familiar with is being transcended by stuff like this that virtually no one understands.

Tim Mrock was ahead of his time. His stuff was and is awesome. But nobody keeps great stuff like that secret for long. Lots of people are on to it now. NPS1260, what do you think that is? SR fuses and outlets, the glob of gray goop they tell you not to remove, what do you think that is? I'll give you a hint, the top end QSA Red and Black fuse uses so much they had to stick a piece on the side.

Once you get a clue and learn to read between the lines, there's a bunch of em out there all doing basically this same thing. All trying to figure out exactly what is going on in order to do it even better. As with all things. One more hint, Mahgister has been doing it for years. What do you think his sandwiches are?
